About Let’s Share

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself stuck at home on lockdown, as most of us were. Before that, I’d been working in a place I loved, doing a job I truly enjoyed with people I appreciated and connected with deeply. It was a special time in my life, and one of the most fulfilling work experiences I’d ever had.

Then the virus hit, lockdown began, and everything changed. I lost my job and my day-to-day connections—the lifeline that kept me grounded. The isolation hit me hard, and my mood shifted rapidly; sadness settled in and eventually turned into depression.

I remember one day feeling profoundly lonely, thinking, There must be millions of people out there who feel this way right now. I was sure I wasn’t alone in struggling with the weight of isolation. So, I opened a WordPress account and created a site called “On My Mind,” envisioning it as a space where people could express whatever was on their minds, bridging the distance and creating an outlet for our shared emotions. But I never ended up publishing it, likely out of a fear of failure.

Though the pandemic eventually ended, loneliness still visits me from time to time. The years since have been a whirlwind of changes. I’ve shifted jobs, expanded my family, and discovered books that have transformed my perspective. Facing these different challenges, I eventually found myself logging back into WordPress. On another lonely day, I decided to revive the website, this time naming it Lonely Port.

As I continued working on it, I realized I didn’t want it to be only about loneliness. I wanted it to reflect the insights I’d gained on my journey over the last five years. Through books, videos, and podcasts, I’d accumulated tools for navigating life’s challenges, and I felt ready to share these with anyone who might find them helpful.

I believe that somewhere along the way, we as humans have lost touch with our deeper selves—the part of us that knows how to face life. Cultural expectations often trap us in boxes, leaving us searching outside ourselves for answers. But with rising levels of anxiety, stress, and depression, it’s clear that we need something more. I think we need to return to our own inner wisdom, to trust ourselves again, and to take responsibility for our lives.

Let’s Share is my way of offering a place where people can connect over shared experiences, reflect, and find the support they need on their journey.
